Speech for the unveiling of Albion Square

Speech of A. Theis-Viemont President of the Sister committee

In September, 2000, Ann Merritt, florist in Albion, give to the delegation of Noisy le Roi in official visit to Albion a check of 1500 dollars to allow our city to transplant trees further to the storm of December, 1999. A first plantation of four trees of 2m50 of height took place in February, 2001.
We are today finalizing this operation by the plantation of the last trees offered by the inhabitants of the city of Albion. The urban development of the neighborhoods of the school required these delays but result is translated by this magnificent achivement and by the inauguration of a public garden the name of which will remind all the support of our twin city.

As president of the CJNR and in the name of our association, I am touched with this gesture which symbolizes the attachement of our two municipalities . A sistership is established to allow mutual enrichments, better to know different cultures, and to support friends. We have a beautiful example of it.
I miss representatives of the city of Albion but the mayor and the sister committee had knowledge of this event by the sending of a mail. We shall send them naturally all the photos which will give evidence of this moment.

I would like to thank first of all the Principal of the College and his deputy manager, director of the SEGPA, who knew how to motivate the young people involved in this project. We have gone from the theory to the practice and education distributed by the school is given concrete expression under our eyes.
I would also like to thank the technical services of the municipality which knew how to pilot this operation and bring advice and competence on this subject.
I do not forget the members of the sister committee which followed more particularly this project of long drawn out job and mainly G. Duthoit, horticulturist to Noisy-le-Roi, who knew how to guide us in the choice of plants to be planted.
I thank the municipality for all the support they give us on our activities and to have agreed to name this public garden of Albion's name
