Summer exchanges with our sisters cities
Sixteen young people of Bailly and Noisy le Roi, accompanied with two chaperons
, passed two weeks, in the beginning of July, 2005, to Albion, typical municipality
of Midwest, USA. In return, four young Americans stayed at Noisy le Roi during
ten days.
These exchanges which take place all years return within the framework of actions
organized by theSister Committee of Noisy le Roi which Bailly's municipality
has recently just joined. Numerous exchanges were also realized with Godella,
municipality close to Valencia, Spain.
To allow young people of our municipalities to grow rich and to open to other
cultures, such is one of the objectives of the Committee. Here is the testimony
of a young person who returns from Albion.
" Albion is a city in Michigan, east of Detroit. Every morning we went
on foot in the Summer Camp and there we found every others French and Americans.
We were divided into several mixing groups French and American. We made several
sorts of activities: football, swimming pool, canoe, baseball, American football,
basketball. We also had conferences on several subjects: nutrition, drug
At 14 hr we went into our families to spend the afternoon and the evening with
them. Often took out us the evening to visit concerts or fireworks where one
often found most of the French.
We were supervised with 2 chaperons very nice: Caroline and Aurélien.
Weekend, we did not go to Summer Camp, so the families occupied us as they wished
it: shopping, visits, contests of baseball.
Americans are really hospitable and welcome us arm opened. I was lucky to fall
in a good family of very kind pensioners, where we ate very well and who occupied
us (there was 2 children in the family) really well ".

New exchanges with Albion
This beginning of 2005 is marked by a new activity of our exchanges with Albion,
because we welcomed, from 2 till 9 April, five young from 13 to 16 years and
their chaperon, for a stay mixes tourism - study, what had not been able to
any more come true since the drama of September, 2001.
They shared their time between different schools and a wide range of outings:
bike-ride in Versailles, the Stadium of France, the Museum of the Sciences of
Villette, Paris naturally, and a little shopping.
Messages received from Albion confirm the interest that we felt during this
too short stay and the very big satisfaction of our guests, due to the dedication
of all, families and companions.
To continue, because this is what the Sistership is in the daily!

Sunday , October 12, 2004
Arrived on Sunday , October 12 at the end of morning, a busy program waited
our hosts. After installation in the families of reception, a contact was made
at the restaurant of the Golf of Noisy le Roi and was followed by a visit of
the city leaded by a speaker very expert of Noisy's history , in this particular
case Mister Barrau, President of the Association the Renaissance du Patrimoine.
The tour of the city made, a working session was held at the City hall in the
presence of Michel Colin, Mayor, Marie-Noëlle Dupuy, assistant Mayor, Florence
Amet, assistant Mayor, Gérard Benso, Principal of the J.B.de La Quintinie
college, as well as members of the Sister Committee . During this meeting a
number of concerted actions was envisaged concerning particularly the school,
cultural and sports domains.
The day ended by a dinner at Marly le Roi bringing together members of the Sister
Committee and the Municipality.
Monday , October 13, 2004
Morning began with the visit of the Jean de La Fontaine nursery school where
we were received by her manageress, Madam Pouhaer, then by that of Jules Verne
elementary school with his director, Mister Barthez. Finally morning ended first
of all with the visit of the very interesting exhibition on the Prehistory at
the exhibition room of the Relay followed by the visit of the Library which
made the admiration of the delegation. Then, reception by Gérard Benso
in the J.B.de La Quintinie college, for a visit of the building and then invitation
to have lunch prepared by Segpa, section of Restoration.
The afternoon a meeting was held with Noisy's le Roi associations at the House
of Quintinie. About twenty associations participated in this meeting and very
interesting and promising exchanges for the future were proposed between our
two cities.
Before returning to the families of reception to rest a moment before evening,
a last visit waited us: that of the Music school. It was the source of surprise
for Rafael Fernandez Maximiano to learn that 400 pupils frequented this school
a reduced space where every room is occupied by children playing any sorts of
instruments.
A big evening, in the Anciennes Ecuries room, waited us in the presence of Noisy's
le Roi City Council , of personalities of the city, with members of Associations
and CJNR.
After a serenade which was given by Bailly / Noisy's le Roi music school conducted
by Salvador Estelles, it was proceeded to the presents for the delegation of
Godella and then was signed between the two Mayors of Godella and Noisy le Roi,
a letter of intent with the aim of a next twinning between our two cities.
Evening ended around a sideboard to celebrate this rising friendship.
Tuesday , October 14, 2004
This day was devoted to discover our beautiful region for the delegation of
Godella. It began first of all by the visit of the Castle of Versailles and
its park. After the lunch we went to Marly le Roi then to St Germain in Laye
to admire the sight of the terrace.
Evening brought us in Paris, in Champs-Élysées for an ultimate
dinner with the delegation of Godella.
Wednesday , October 15, 2004
Early in the morning, the delegation of Godella joined the airport for a return to Godella via Valencia.
Conclusion
An excellent impression of this meeting, shown by a deep desire, on both sides
, to establish a twinning between our two cities. Many affinities showed themselves
in particular at the level of the Music school, of the Cultural or School actions.
For proof of this excellent climate is already foreseen a school exchange between
the J.B.de La Quintinie college and the Gentian school for the next year.
This twinning appears under best auspices and will bring to Noiséens
real possibilities to discover or to improve the knowledge of people so close
to us and with whom we share so much common history.
P.S.
The CJNR thanks warmly all who were involved in the reception and the coverage of our Spanish friends, contributing so to made this reception a success days.
Thank you also to our partner the Société Générale Bank for its effective support during this event.

The children or the adults of NLR will there be able to find activities in a frame of the same type as what they are used to
Matching and possible school exchanges with the Gentian school of which the manageress is Sofia.

Anniversary of the Landing in Normandy
|
During the event of the commemoration
in Noisy le Roi, of the 60th anniversary of the Landing of the allied
troops on june 6,1944 in Normandy, the mayor of Albion, Bill Wheaton,
sent a message to the inhabitants of Noisy le Roi. May 18, 2004 William M. Wheaton Mayor, City of
Albion THANKS TO YOU, we remember young people fallen in the battlefield and all who paid with their life the price for freedom. They came from Canada, from the United States, from England, from Commonwealth and from Africa. They were 20 years old. They accepted that their individual fate fades in front of the collective fate of the free world and of France. This generation will have marked in a indelible way our history because they will have battle two heroic fights and won two decisive victories: Victory on the subjection a totalitarian ideology in 1944, 60 years ago. These are landings in Italy, in Normandy, in Provence, liberations of Paris, Strasbourg and Berlin. Second victory is that of Peace, victory of humanism which allowed the conciliation of the European nations Who could imagine, 60 years ago, that today all the nations of old Europe would live under the same flag of 12 golden stars. Who could hope for it? You who were 20 years old at the liberation of our native soil, you did understand that victory by weapons was an unfinished fight as long as our nations would not have become reconciled and would not be freely united. Since two thousand years of history and common fates, our fathers had never known 6 decades of peace. Today, we sometimes have the impression that our fate escapes us in an unverifiable globalization. You gave us the example that our fate can be mastered. We are grateful to you, the generation of the Veterans of the Liberation, to have had the boldness to beat and the will to gather us under the same stars. Now in this day, we can understang the far reaching responsibility which we got in inheritance and the authoritarian necessity of the duty of memory so that disasters as those of the 1940 do not reproduce any more.
