Sunday April 1th Arrival in Noisy around 1 pm |
Good flight, everyone in good
condition.

Monday April 2th A day in Paris |
We had a long but good time today:
start from Collège de la Quintinye at 08:am. Through Forêt de Marly le
Roi, Port Marly, le Vésinet, visit of Chatou island of the Impressionistes,
la Défense business center and first walk at Arc de Triomphe. Continuing
with the Champs Elysée, Place de la Concorde, Eglise de la Madeleine,
Opéra, Place Vendôme, Place de la Concorde, Assemblée Nationale, boulevard
St Germain, le Panthéon, Palais du Luxembourg (Sénat) and pic-nic in the
Jardin des Plantes. Go east to the Grande Bibliothèque Nationale, cross
the Seine river, Place de la Bastille and stop in the back of Notre Dame
church. Visit of it and walk through the street: Palais de Justice, Conciergerie,
pont Neuf (the oldest bridge of Paris) and arrival to Musée du Louvre.
Walk through the Jardin des Tuileries between the spring flowers!!! Arrival
Place de la Concorde again and forward to American Embassy at 03:45pm.
Serious safety check before to be allowed to enter into the building.
Warm reception in the Library with presentation and after a nice talk
with the Attaché d'Ambassade.The bus was waiting at Place de la Concorde
to continue along the Seine until Eiffel Tower, Place du Trocadéro and
back to Noisy le Roi City Hall for a reception with our Mayor Michel COLLIN.
"Petits discours" from Annick THEIS-VIEMONT and the Mayor, small gifts
for Albion guests and a merited drink with all host families. Back to
host families after 7:30pm.

Tuesday April 3th Morning : Collège de la Quintinye |
Tuesday morning was passed in
into English classes at the Collège.

Tuesday April 3th Afternoon A visit of the parck of Versailles |
During the afternoon, Albion group
was walking from the Collège de la Quintinye to...the Parc de Versailles
and...back, with a well trained walker: Didier Andy CAELS. Nice discovery
for the young students

Tuesday April 3th An evening: Conference " first French explorers in Canada and North America " |
In the evening Adrienne CARGO has made a real performance to present...in French, the french explorers in Canada and North America from 1600 until 1998 and...in Albion!!!. Albion team, all host families and a large participation from Noisy inhabitants attended the lecture. After this well appreciate presentation, a "buffet campagnard" was prepared by the host families at the Collège restaurant. Warm atmosphere until 11:pm. |
Wednesday April 4th In the morning: Visit in the Fire brigade of
Voluceau's camp. |
The rain had invited itself but
the Firemen of the maintenance Camp of Voluceau had done a very nice time
to our young guests with demonstrations... Lunch on place with the Fireteam.

Wednesday April 4th Afternoon: Noisy's walk - discovery. |
The afternoon was dedicated to discover Noisy-le-Roi history with a presentation and after a guided tour through the streets of old Noisy. |
Thursday April 5th A day at the Château de Fontainebleau |
Today thursday, our guests have
had the opportunity to visit the "Château de Fontainebleau", 70 kms, south
of Paris. One more castle witness of French Monarchie and politicals events.
Hunting residence of Louis le Gros in the XIIth century, Renaissance castle
with François Ier, Henry Ier and Henry IV, Louis XIV, Napoléon Ier and
Napoléon III. They have visited a large part of the rooms with an audio-guide.
After walking through the different gardens and the canal. Back to Noisy
with the bus near 6:pm.

Friday April 6th Morning : at theCollège |
In the morning with the french
students in the class room.

Friday April 6th Afternoon : A visit of the Stade de France |
At 1:45pm go to the temple of
soccer the Stade de France in Saint Denis city, 3 kms north of Paris,
with the bus. The Stade de France was built from mid 1996 to early 1998
for the Soccer World Championship organized by France who won the Championship.
France won also the European Cup next year, in july 2000.

Sunday April 8th Departure to Albion |
It's Easter but it is also the
departure from our guests too. Meeting point was Salle Maintenon near
Porte de Gondi at 00:30pm. Everybody was in time with luggage, required
papers... it seems that it was difficult to say "au revoir", some tears
in the eyes, last exchanges... The bus was ready to go. Adrienne has made
a last check and suddenly came out from the bus a great "MERCI" and "AU
REVOIR". All host families and members of the Sister-Commitee were making
signs to our new friends in the bus starting its road to Roissy airport.
Bon voyage et bon retour à Albion.
